SUMMER PROGRAMS TO KEEP YOUR CHILD ENGAGED & LEARNING

Illuminos offers summer enrichment and support for students where they need it most: retention, understanding or acceleration!

We help students balance the need to relax and have fun with the need to keep their brains sharp. Summer is the time when students lose skills they gained during the school year, known as the “summer slide,” which we can help students avoid!

Our expert coaches can help your child build learning and writing strategies, develop Executive Functioning skills, support Summer assignments, bolster subject matter knowledge, and feel prepared and confident about going back to school this Fall.

Project-Based Learning Program

Summer is a great time to help your child learn Executive Function skills while doing something they enjoy!

Our expert coaches collaborate with your child to explore a topic that sparks their interest, ranging from history and cooking to sports and beyond. This personalized journey encompasses the necessary steps to build Executive Function skills, including research, planning, organization, and execution phases. It leads to a significant final project such as an event, presentation, or design. This goes a long way to preparing your child for using their EF skills in the Fall at school.

Does your child want to:

  • Build a garden?

  • Understand the physics of hitting a baseball just right to get a home run?

  • Learn how to design, build, manufacture and sell a product?

Along the way, your child will learn to organize, plan, manage time, focus, research, outline, write, and present proving to themselves that they can achieve their goals.

In the end, your student will showcase their learning in a creative way (past examples include: writing a poem, presenting a slide show, creating a 3D image, graphic design, or piece of art). The fun part is that they get to choose based on their interest!
